He's a bigger little guy than me.

I have the same problem. And many of my fellow
[unsigned (in most cases)] musicians do as well.

But, we are NOT cookie-cutter wannabes. we write "real" music.
Just no way to get paid [much] for it.

Have not seen a viable solution yet.

Ben Weasel, at some point, turned into the douchiest douche of all douches. Which kind of makes me sad.

Eh, I never thought so. He's got some points in this that I agree with. And some that I most assuredly do not.

And I loved his last solo album.

Point 1) He loves the All-American Rejects.

Point 2) He's doing an SW reunion without even asking Jughead to participate.

I mean, he's always had that fuck-you-all attitude (see The Queers' "Ben Weasel"), which is fine, but he's gotten a little self-righteous over the past number of years, and it's a little off-putting.

If anything I figure he's gotten LESS self-righteous. :) But then it's always been hard to tell when and how much he's kidding (have you ever read his guide to proper punk rock dress and etiquette? The title escapes me, but it's just classic.)

And yeah, the Jugheadless SW is weird.

As is the AAR thing, really.

I dunno. I've never met him, but he's friends with Jim Testa, so I figure he's gotta be okay. And he liked the review I wrote of "These Ones Are Bitter" for Jersey Beat. Granted it was a rather positive review. :)

Yeah, I can't remember the title but it's in "Punk is a Four Letter Word," which is also fun.



Seriously, you should catch my band sometime. I think you'd probably dig us. We're at the Bug Jar next Saturday with the Brud & Spacelords. I'm sure innumberable Krown shows will also be forthcoming.
